Joy, hope, curiosity, generosity, wonder---all of these can also be ways to Christ.  We need not be a head-bowed, contrite people.  This has been a year of personal reflection, long times alone, and difficult times of facing our shadow sides.   These are fantastic ways to re-connect with God.  But also, 2020 took away some of the ways we find joy in one another.  To get that back and to infuse our hearts with a bit of joy, wonder and silliness we are inviting you into Lenten Shenanigans 2021.

What are shenanigans:  Any surprising act of showing love to your neighbors.

Some examples:  dropping off delicious food, leaving signs or marks of your presence in their yard…lawn ornaments, pink flamingos, etc.  Sending fun anonymous items through the mail.  Streamers on their porch, small gifts….stuffed animals?  Flowers..fresh or potted?...a homemade mask?  Maybe you have fond memories of sharing a beer or coffee with someone…drop off a bottle or bag of beans or gift card…with a note.  Send something through Amazon…give them your favorite book and inscribe a note about it….

There are no rules except…nothing destructive, only actions or items that bring a smile or joy.
