UN Human Rights Office Input Opportunity: Racial Justice and Human Rights
The UN Human Rights Office is now requesting inputs from all stakeholders on:

- Combatting systemic racism
- Excessive force used against peaceful protestors, journalists, and bystanders
- Government and institutional responses to human rights abuses related to these matters

UNA-USA members are invited to provide written or verbal responses to contribute to the report. Written responses are due Tuesday, December 1, and the opportunity to contribute verbally will take place during a Zoom meeting discussion on December 1 at 4:30 pm ET.

Specific comments are requested from UNA-USA members concerning the following issues:
-Measures taken to reform policies and practices which perpetuate racial discrimination against people of African descent.
-Information regarding specific incidents of violations of human rights against people of African descent by law enforcement and accountability for such actions.
-Government response to peaceful anti-racism protests
-Good practices and lessons learned to combat racial discrimination and prevent human rights violations against people of African descent by law enforcement

Information concerning  alleged human rights violations by law enforcement officials against Africans and people of African descent and accountability measures for such actions (Limit: 400 words)
 Information concerning Government responses to anti-racism peaceful protests (Limit: 400 words)
Good practices, challenges and lessons learned regarding measures taken to: (i) combat systemic racism at the national, state/regional and local levels (ii) prevent and address alleged human rights violations against Africans and people of African descent by law enforcement officials (iii) ensure accountability for human rights violations against Africans and people of African descent (iv) ensure appropriate Government responses to anti-racism peaceful protests. (Limit: 400 words)
