Information about applying to be a Student Officer (a.k.a. Chair) on KarMUN 2023
Student Officers, also known as Chairs or Presidents, are the ones who are in charge of a committee. They are responsible for a wide range of things, such as the smooth flow of the debate, maintaining order and guiding the Delegates through the conference, answering their questions and making sure everyone gets their chance to speak. A good Chair must be helpful, responsible, attentive and organized. They also must follow the KarMUN Rules of Procedure (which can be found on our website: Rules of Procedure - KarMUN).

Student Officers are not Delegates, they do not represent countries, therefore they have to be as objective on the issues as possible. The Chairs or Presidents must also write so-called ISSUE DESCRIPTIONs, which should include, in detail, the issue being discussed and later debated on by the committee.
