University of Mississippi Adult-Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid- Adult (MHFA) is an international, evidence-based training that teaches you how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The course helps you identify, understand, and respond to signs of addictions and mental illnesses. The University has trained MHFA instructors that can provide training throughout our campus community. This Blended Mental Health First Aid Course focuses on recognizing the patterns of thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and appearances that show there might be a mental health challenge. Participants are taught an action plan that they apply to non-crisis and crisis situations. The course requires approximately 2 hours of self-paced pre-work and 6 hours of in-person material that we divide into two 4-hour days to allocate time for breaks and discussion.  If you are interested in receiving A-MHFA training, please complete our interest form to begin the process of scheduling a training for you and your team.
