Partnership Chair 2022
Dance Marathon at FSU is looking for a Partnership Chair who will oversee corporate and local sponsorship. You will be responsible for building relationships between Dance Marathon at FSU and the corporate and local sponsors, maintaining strong communication with them year-round, and being enthusiastic about bringing new business and sponsors to our organization.

The Partnership chair should have knowledge of advertising and marketing techniques while being ready to find new and innovative ways for sponsors to be showcased throughout the year, and at our main event. This individual needs to have superior communication skills, the ability to answer emails within a 24-hour period, and the readiness to work with other teams that are necessary to fulfill contracts. This position works with the Finance Director while leading the Partnership Team.

Responsibilities:
Create Dance Marathon at FSU's sponsorship packet that will be used in sales pitches throughout the year.
Customize sponsorship levels that will best fit our sponsors' needs.
Work closely with the Finance Director and Marketing & Publicity Chair to think of new ways to attract, retain, and recognize our sponsors throughout the year.
Promote and pitch sponsorship opportunities to business owners in the local, regional, and national arena.
Research and reach out to new stores, restaurants, apartment complexes, that will be coming to Tallahassee.
Build a relationship with our existing sponsors and foster new ones with corporate sponsors within or outside Tallahassee.

Requirements and Skills:
Must be a full-time student at Florida State University with a GPA of 2.5 or above.
Must be able to commit to this role through the entire year, including summer, fall, and spring until the next marathon ends and new management team is selected.
Must not be studying abroad during Fall or Spring semesters.
Knowledge of Advertising and Marketing.
Have the ability to cold call/email businesses to set up meetings and pitching the vision of DM does not intimidate you.
Not afraid of rejection. There will be times that you might pitch to multiple businesses and get turned down. We need someone who will persevere as they move forward to the next person while getting them to agree to become a sponsor.
Must be relentless. You must be more than willing to keep emailing and calling potential sponsors until they can agree to have a conversation about why they should partner with DM.
You're a team player. You can split up the responsibilities among your team to get even more done than you could by yourself.
