SEACoast Slow Seminar on Teren Sevea's Miracles and Material Life.
Dear Friends of SEACoast,

SEACoast is happy to invite you to our first Slow Seminar of the Fall quarter, October 13, 3.30 - 6 PM. We will be discussing Teren Sevea's book, Miracles and Material Life: Rice, Ore, Traps and Guns in Islamic Malaya. We intend to use the first 90 minutes for discussion, and we are delighted to have Dr Benny Baskara, visiting Research Associate at UCSC Anthropology, to start us off with some questions.

The event will be held at the Cowell Provost House (bottom left corner of this map).

We ask that participants attending the discussion part of the event prepare by reading the book. The e-book is available through the UCSC library at this link.

If you plan to attend the discussion and/or reception, please fill out this form.
