INTRODUCTION
People are like books, we have a cover that can talk about us, but we also have many things to tell that are different from what our external image can say, revealing the story behind that image and breaking all those prejudices that They still remain in our society when we value people only by their image and without knowing their entire reality.
This unique exercise of listening to people, breaking down any type of prejudice, opening up like when we open a book and start reading it, discovering another reality and breaking down walls that separate us, is the foundation and objective of this activity.
WHAT WE WANT TO DO FROM THE TIMEBANKS
We want to organize dialogues between people who present themselves as HUMAN BOOKS to avid READERS of their personal life stories , and who tell us about THEIR DIFFERENT RELATIONSHIP WITH RESPECT TO TIME IN THEIR DAILY LIFE , all this in the week of October 24, World Book Day. The libraries.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
READERS who attend this activity are offered the possibility of reading and listening to these HUMAN BOOKS in turns of 15 minutes for each of the books; It can be an hour and a half in total to read six books if the readers rotate from one to another, it can be another number of books and other different reading times. Once the book readings are finished, HUMAN BOOKS and READERS meet to share their impressions in their respective roles, we draw final conclusions and we can propose new topics for future activities of these HUMAN READINGS.
RELATIONSHIPS WITH RESPECT TO TIME
We give you several examples of possible profiles of HUMAN BOOKS regarding TIME:
- Very busy person, no time and overwhelmed, individual profile
- Very busy, no time, family profile: personal and family conciliation and uses of family time
- Very busy, time dedicated to others or to a specific cause (religious person , pe)
- Unemployed, for a long time, worried about the future of work, generally young profile
- Unemployed person, for a long time, without apparent worries, retired or pensioner profile
