Our voices are the instruments of our bodies. It is how we can express everything that lives and has lived inside of us. It is also how we've learned to sensor, to edit and ignore in order to belong to a set of values and systems that do not value us. Voice Movement Therapy is an expressive art therapy that offers permission as a practice. By centering voice and vocalization as the main tools of self-reflection, we learn how to listen to the many parts of ourselves, from the inside out, some unknown and unfamiliar, and express them in sound, song and story. No experience singing is necessary.
