Back by popular demand - the Second Annual Paddlefest at Janes Island State Park, located in Crisfield, Maryland. We're excited to be planning another paddle event chocked full of fun activities including guided paddles, poker run paddle, campfire on the water, food, music, pontoon boat rides, coastal clean-up, children's activities, nature crafts and more!
Event is FREE, however registration is required to allow us to properly plan for the event. You are encouraged to bring your own boat. The park has a limited number of rental boats available on a first-come, first-served basis. You may also consider making arrangements in advance with a local vendor offering a variety of single and tandem kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Multi-day reservations may also be made in advance.
For experienced paddlers, there will be a "Janes Island Challenge". This challenge consists of a 13-mile paddle, circumnavigating Janes Island. It is not a race and for non-motorized vessels only. Registration is required to participate to receive the challenge completion token. (Note- This challenge is weather dependent and not recommended for novice paddlers due to open water and swift currents)
Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. (Rain date: June 8, 2024) Anyone who wishes to camp at Janes Island State Park, reservations can be made online at
parkreservations.maryland.gov or by calling 1-888-432-2267.
