Application form for ESC in Logos NGO (Poland)

As an ESC Volunteer, you will be essential in organising and implementing various activities and events. About half of your work will relate to the development and integration of children with the majority of them being refugees from Ukraine. You will work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and international volunteers to create impactful experiences for children in Poznan. This role requires creativity, organisation, and a passion for working with children. 


The second half of your work will be connected to the organisation’s regular activities, mostly with and for young people. You will work alongside the team of our youth workers, interns and volunteers.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Organising English-speaking clubs for children:

- Plan and conduct speaking clubs to enhance children's language and communication skills.

- Develop engaging activities and topics to encourage active participation.


2. Organising artistic and development workshops for children:

- Curate and facilitate workshops to nurture creativity, talents, and personal growth among children.

- Source materials and resources needed for workshop activities.


3. Support in implementation of excursions, meetings with local governmental institutions, and other events for children:

- Arrange educational excursions and meetings with local authorities to broaden children's horizons and understanding of their community.

- Coordinate logistics for events ensuring safety and enjoyment for all participants.

- Coordinate decorations, activities, and refreshments as necessary.


4. Working with stakeholders involved in the implementation of the organisation's events:

   - Liaise with stakeholders, including schools, community centres, and NGOs, to collaborate on event planning and execution.


5. Work with volunteers:

   - Recruit, train, and support volunteers participating in children's activities.

   - Provide guidance and resources to ensure volunteers are prepared and effective.


6. Work with parents of children attending our activities:

   - Maintain open communication with parents, addressing any concerns and providing updates on activities and events.

   - Solicit feedback from parents to improve program offerings continuously.


7. Event management:

   - Oversee all aspects of event management, including scheduling, budgeting, and logistics.

   - Ensure events run smoothly and according to plan.


8. Collaborating with other organisations and institutions:

   - Foster partnerships with other organisations and institutions in Poznan, working towards similar goals.

   - Identify opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives to maximise impact.


Qualifications:


- Previous experience working with children or in community development preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong organisational and time management abilities.

- Creativity and resourcefulness in program planning.

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

- Fluency in English.

- Commitment to the values of solidarity, inclusion, and diversity.
