By using Reef Check data, you acknowledge the following terms and conditions and agree to
adhere to them. All data collected by Reef Check staff, EcoDivers and volunteers are for public,
non-commercial use and distributed under Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial 4.0
International (CC BY-NC 4.0), which allows for free sharing and adaptation, giving appropriate
credit to Reef Check Foundation. Full terms of this license is available at
https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/legalcode.

Use of this data, in whole or in part, in any project or publication should acknowledge Reef
Check Foundation as the provider of said data and can be cited as the following:

Reef Check Foundation. Reef Check Global Reef Dataset. data.reefcheck.org. Date Accessed
(Day Month Year).

Acknowledgments in publications or projects using Reef Check data should read the following
(or similar to it): “We thank the Reef Check Foundation, its Chapters and volunteers who have

We also request that any projects or publications based on Reef Check data are brought to our
attention and shared with us. While much of what Reef Check does is based on volunteerism,
