School Day Concerts At Your School Request Form
This program is FREE and takes our performances directly to middle school sites across San Francisco and Oakland.

Each concert is about 30-45 minutes long with a 15 minute Q&A. SFJAZZ provides all equipment and back-line needed. In advance of concert we must determine facility production with a school site tour. School Day Concerts are scheduled from October-May and are available on a first come first served basis.

DURING THESE CONCERTS STUDENTS & TEACHERS WILL:
  • Explore connections between music of different cultures and their musical elements.
  • Interact with artists through call and response, and improvisation.
  • Learn about the evolution of jazz and analyze its connections to modern day music.
  • Explore the history of oral storytelling and its connection to the creation of jazz.
  • Learn how jazz is alive, relevant, and continuing to grow today!
