In order to try out for any sport the following must be read and signed by player and parent

Before allowing your child to try out, please be aware of the following rules and expectations. Signing this document constitutes your acceptance of these terms.

Participation in the Frisch sports program is a privilege. Being on a Frisch team demands commitment and responsibility by players and parents. We would like to bring to your attention the following details that we hope will help every member of the team have a clear understanding of what it means to be part of a Yeshivat Frisch team.

Parental Commitment:
The administration reserves the right to remove any student from a sports team, either temporarily or permanently, if it deems it necessary. The following are some guidelines, but do not represent a comprehensive list, of expectations and obligations.

• Academic effort. Students on sports teams must maintain the grade average and academic performance required by Frisch for participation on the team.
• Appropriate behavior during all games. This includes appropriate language, respect for the referee, and respect for opposing players.
• Respect for the coach. This includes during games and practices.
• As a parent I acknowledge the “24 hour rule.” This means that I will save all my questions, comments, and concerns for the coach or school orally, by e-mail, or otherwise, until 24 hours after conclusion of the game.
• Playing time in games (and practice) is at the complete discretion of the coach. Players may play very few or no minutes at all in one or more games. Parents should encourage their child to talk directly to the coach if any issues arise.
• This is a game. I will encourage my son/daughter to compete while understanding that it is a game, but that the lessons to be learned involving hard work, dedication, teamwork, commitment, and leadership will have lifelong benefits. No games or performance should undermine this.

Player Requirements:
• Students may try out for more than one sports team, but may only play on one team per semester.
• Every student athlete represents Frisch and its values when playing for Frisch or wearing Frisch apparel. Boys will wear a kippa at Frisch or in any Frisch event on and off the court.
• Players must participate in all practices unless there is an extenuating circumstance.
• Players must participate in tefillah pre- or post-games or practices, as directed by the coach or school.
• Players may, in a respectful manner, discuss playing time with the coach. Parents may never discuss their child's playing time with the coach.
• Playing time in games (and practice) is at the complete discretion of the coach. Players may play few or no minutes at all in one or more games.
• As a player I acknowledge the “24 hour rule.” This means that I will save all my questions, comments, and concerns for the coach by e-mail or otherwise until 24 hours after the conclusion of the game.
• Players from previous years are not guaranteed a spot on the team; each player must try out again in order to play on the team.

I understand all of the rules and expectations listed above and would like to try out for a sports team.
