2020 Forbes Family Farm CSA
*Please note, we are currently sold out of all CSA shares. Still fill out this information and you will be added to our waiting list so we can contact you if any spots become available or as we have additional produce purchasing opportunities.*

As a family farm, our goal has always been to grow high quality food for our family and share the bounty with our community. Over the past two years, we’ve progressed from a handful of garden beds and a small flock of laying hens to over 5000 square feet of gardens, hundreds of broiler hens each season, and the latest addition of pasture-raised pork. Each year we grow closer to our goal of raising a full diet for ourselves, and we continue to seek out new ways to make the harvest available to our community.

The COVID19 pandemic is making us all do things a little differently. For us, that means finding a new way to make our produce available for those of you in our community. So, we are excited to announce our first official CSA farm share program.

What is a CSA?

Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a way for community members to purchase locally grown food directly from farmers by purchasing a "share" upfront and then receiving weekly boxes of produce.

Each week you will receive a box of fruits and vegetables from the farm. The exact mix will vary from week to week based on what is available to harvest. While it will fluctuate based on crop cycles and season, our commitment is that throughout the course of the season, we will provide you with produce that matches a volume and quality for the full value of your membership. If we have periods where we have less in-season produce available, we may supplement your box with other items such as eggs, honey, flowers, or jam.

While we are not yet certified organic, we apply organic practices in all of our garden operations. So that means we use non-GMO, organic seeds and we never use any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides or herbicides. We’re focused on building the quality of our soil so the plants we produce are incredibly nutrient-dense. Read more about our farming values here: http://theforbesfamilyfarm.com/farm-questions/.

Membership Options

We will offer seasonal or full-year memberships and each week members will receive a harvest box. As the season progresses, members will have added perks of special discounts and access to exclusive on-farm events.

Spring CSA (May 1-June 20) - $100 (SOLD OUT)
This 8-week early season CSA will feature a variety of greens (lettuce, kale, arugula, spinach), root crops (radishes, carrots, beets, turnips) and peas, Swiss Chard, green onions and garlic scapes near the end of the spring season. These boxes will be a bit smaller as produce is just coming on here in our high-altitude setting!

Summer CSA (June 26-August 15) - $200 (SOLD OUT)
In addition to the vegetables listed in the spring CSA, this 8-week mid-season CSA will begin to include crops such as green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, eggplant, summer squash and herbs.

Fall CSA (August 21-October 10) - $200 (SOLD OUT)
This late-season CSA will include many of the vegetables listed above in addition to winter squash, apples, plums, garlic, onions, leeks and potatoes.

Full Season CSA (May 1-October 10) - $450 (SOLD OUT)
Our full season CSA will include a weekly share throughout the entire 24-week season. If you purchase the full-season CSA, you will receive a 10% discount on the total price. Additionally, you will receive priority access to eggs, honey, chicken and pork as it is available.

All CSA members will incur a one-time start up fee of $25 that includes a Forbes Family Farm T-shirt and delivery box.
