2025 Songwriting Competition Rules & Registration
Submit an original song that contains a positive messages for youth  or families, music that supports diversity, promotes community,  or encouragement, is about Kindness, or Tells YOUR Story  

What to do:  

1) Submit an original composition or song. It must be an original song created by you  (Any AI submissions will not be allowed) or the songs can be in collaboration with a friend who is also listed on the form. Email it to  Drexelfoundation@gmail.com by the deadline  

2) No entry fee! This registration form is required however. 

3)Age categories: 4-11, 12-14, 15-19, 20-up. Each age category contestant wins a sack with over $50 in value of various prizes & gift certificates!  

4) Each age category  1st place wins and $100.00 CASH  Best of Show wins a $100.00 and TROPHY. All categories compete for  this special prize and may also win first place in their age category.  

5) Decisions and competition entries close on May 28, 2025 at midnight MST, but the winners are announced and the cash will be awarded at Drexel’s Art Beat  on Main Street event held on May 31st at the Grand Opera House. You Need not be  present to win. Various artists may be asked to perform their song that day if they  desire, but it has no bearing on who wins. It is simply an opportunity to showcase  your song!  

6) Must have parental permission and signature on the registration/ entry form to compete. If another individual helps with the creation of the song, or helps  perform it, they must have their own signed registration form as well.   

7) Must have this signed artist registration in a pdf or word document  submitted to the drexelfoundation@gmail.com the same time your entry is  submitted. You may submit up to 2 individual original songs and 2 group original  songs in this contest.  

8) Your song entry can be any format (a music video, a sound recording,  youtube link) and with any style of music or genre you desire. I.E. country,  instrumental, rock, folk music, ethnic music, etc. Remember the song must be rated  PG and the listening of your composition is “For kids, by kids and with kids in  mind”.

10)  DEADLINE May 28th, 2025, with the Winners announced on May 31st

Foundation the right to reproduce and/or use for  advertising purposes the song submitted, videos or photos of the contestant, and agrees to it’s  public display.
