Staff Awards at Paving the Way: Connecting OST Locally and Across Virginia 
Nominate a colleague in the OST field to be recognized at VPOST's 15th Annual Conference traveling to five locations:

-Shenandoah Valley, May 30th
-Central Virginia, August 5th
-Hampton Roads, August 20th
-Southwest Virginia, September
-Northern Virginia, September

In our commitment to the quality of OST programs, VPOST is releasing the second edition of the Virginia OST Program Quality Standards. To recognize dedication and achievements of those in the field, VPOST will award an individual at each conference stop that demonstrate one of the quality standards in exemplary action. 

You may use the nomination form below to enter a submission for a colleague for one of the new Quality Standards. 

1. Leadership and Staff Development: Guiding Principle: The program displays effective leadership and coherent policies and procedures that support quality and sustainability.

2. Safe Environments: Guiding Principle: Program staff prepare and maintain safe and secure environments that support the needs of diverse participants.

3. Health and Wellbeing: Guiding Principle: Program staff provide opportunities to promote and support the physical, mental, and emotional health needs of staff, children and youth, families, and the community.

4. Inclusion and Belonging: Guiding Principle: Programs ensure there are systems in place that support a welcoming culture inclusive of all backgrounds and abilities, fostering a sense of belonging.

5. Relationships: Guiding Principle: The program provides opportunities for positive connections and interaction between all staff, children and youth, families, and the community.

6. Partnerships and Networking: Guiding Principle: Program leaders network, build and strengthen partnerships to leverage resources and create sustainability.

7. Active and Engaged Learning: Guiding Principle: Programming and activities are developmentally appropriate and serve the diverse needs and interests of participants of all abilities.

8. Child and Youth Voice: Guiding Principle: Children and youth have authentic opportunities to plan, implement and provide feedback on programming.

9. Support Student Success: Guiding Principle: The program intentionally links afterschool activities and experiences to support and reinforce academic standards and the development of life skills.

10. Continuous Improvement: Guiding Principle: Program staff regularly assess, plan, and implement improvements that engage all stakeholders to promote high-quality practices for service delivery.
