The Four Lakes Group Outdoors for All! team works together and with allies and partners to provide and improve equitable access to green spaces in and around Dane County, Wisconsin. No child or adult left behind!
We are seeking individuals who have a passion for nature, who believe that natural spaces should be accessible for all to enjoy, and who wish to improve access to parks for people in and around Dane County.
Our team has been working on several opportunities to understand and improve access to the outdoors as we listen to allies and amplify outdoor access needs identified by allies and identify challenges to accessing Dane County and other local parks.
Our team of passionate individuals are working on:
1) Getting the word out on the Every Kid Outdoors program (state and national program),
2) Attending events and introducing new outdoor experiences such as camping or snowshoeing,
3) Finding new ways to provide transportation to improve access to public lands and parks,
4) Developing an outdoor education series for local school (Grades K - 5), and
5) Training outings leaders and expanding our local and state outings program to provide more opportunities to get outdoors!
6) Planting trees in underserved communities and areas
7) Supporting better transit options to support people getting to parks and other places they want to go
