CRAFT YOUTH CULTURE: INFORMATION + APPLICATION
DEADLINE TO APPLY: Friday, December 31, 2021

Craft Youth Culture is a free after-school program designed for teens who are interested in learning craft techniques and pursuing careers in the arts.

This fall, participating teens have joined artist Patrick Michael Ballard for a weekly online workshop. The program brings together a diverse range of craft materials and traditions of storytelling to reveal new and surprising ways for the students to express themselves.

As we transition from virtual programs this fall, to our in-person Winter/Spring semester we have a few spots open for new teens to join our cohort. Don't miss out on the opportunity to work with professional artists, engage in critical discussion, and connect with other teens!

The program includes:

- Gallery visits and facilitated discussions about art
- Working with contemporary artists and artist studio visits
- Hands-on artmaking projects and portfolio development
- Guest speakers and programs exploring careers in the arts
- First-hand experience of the behind-the-scenes operations of an art museum
- All necessary materials and tools for projects
- Free admission to the museum and special events for you and your family
- A culminating professional showcase of work created throughout the year in the form of an exhibition, event, or catalogue.
