HINT: The most efficient map to date was hiked by Benny Braden which was 924 miles; however, about 10 miles of trail were closed from the 2016 fires.  For our hike, Porter's Creek Trail is currently closed and we are doubtful it will be reopened during our hike (but we will have to hike the 10 miles of trail that were closed when Braden hiked his map).  Most people hike well over 1000 miles for their map, but our trail boss, Lane DeCost, is a logistical mastermind and worked very hard to lessen the amount of miles we'll hike.
