We are living in unusual times, and people around the world are turning to scholars for guidance on how to respond to COVID-19: how to “flatten the curve”, how to survive social isolation, and what to read. PHH is rolling out a new video series featuring UBC Humanities scholars giving their perspectives on “Life in a time of COVID” by responding to things they are reading, sharing stories or written works, and giving public talks on research interests. Humanities scholars, we're calling on you to participate!
This form is for our #HumaniTalks series––a short, public "TED Talk" or "Nerd Nite" style presentation where scholars share a niche research interest with the greater public.
The format: videos will be around 10-12 minutes long, and can be as simple as a webcam or cell phone recording of yourself at the reading spot of your choice. We can help with tech and offer tips for setup. Videos will be shared on our website and social media channels under the hashtag #HumaniTalks. Check out our Youtube channel for examples:
