Would you like your child to learn traditional Ecuadorian dances?

Our children’s dance program Ñukanchik Sapi, which in the Kichwa language stands for “our roots", will begin it's classes on Saturday, April 30th from 3 to 4:30pm in Astoria. During this hour and a half children will immerse themselves in a dance while learning about Ecuadorian culture.

Ñukanchik Sapi, which is part of the Ecuadorian American Cultural Center, is a program that provides children and their parents with a space where they can learn about Ecuadorian culture and meet other families of Ecuadorian descent and beyond. The class has a small fee and meets every Saturday.

The program presents a spring and a winter recital where the children perform the various dances they have learned. Besides these productions, the students who participate in the weekly rehearsals have the opportunity to perform in local cultural events.

Nuestro programa de danza infantil Ñukanchik Sapi, que en Kichwa significa “nuestras raíces”, comenzará sus clases el sábado 30 de abril de 3 a 4:30pm en Astoria. Durante esta hora y media los niños se sumergirán en una danza mientras aprende sobre la cultura ecuatoriana.

 Ñukanchik Sapi, que forma parte del Centro Cultural Ecuatoriano Americano, es un programa que brinda a los niños y sus padres un espacio donde pueden aprender sobre la cultura ecuatoriana y conocer a otras familias de ascendencia ecuatoriana y más allá. La clase tiene una pequeña cuota y se reúne todos los sábados.

El programa presenta un recital de primavera y otro de invierno donde los niños interpretan los diferentes bailes aprendidos. Además de estas producciones, los estudiantes que participan en los ensayos semanales tienen la oportunidad de actuar en eventos culturales locales.
