Do you love live music?

SOUND CHECK is a new training programme from Future Yard, designed to introduce young people to the skills that will help them pursue a successful and sustainable career in the live music industry.

Sound Check is open to anyone aged 16+ in the Liverpool City Region, with a passion for live music and an interest in making it their career. The course is free to access and no previous experience is required.

The Sound Check programme focuses on two areas: Technical Production and Live Music Event Management. These are then followed by an independent group project, in which you will utilise your new skills to deliver your own live event.

The programme is delivered by Future Yard’s hugely experienced team of tutors and boasts a broad range of guest speakers from across the industry.

After completing the programme, you will have the opportunity to join Future Yard’s ongoing training programme, further developing your skills and experience.

Sound Check is split into two programmes: a part-time 12-week Monday evening programme; and a full-time 18-week programme which runs Tuesday-Thursday. Sessions on the 12-week Monday night programme will take place Monday evenings from 5.30pm - 8.30pm. There will also be additional sessions outside of these times when you will be working on live events. These additional sessions are gigs, so you will need to consider how you get home after the gigs are finished, so you can stay until the end (usually between 11pm and midnight).

Sessions for the 18-week full-time Sound Check programme will take place Monday-Wednesday from 10am - 4pm. There will also be additional sessions outside of these times when you will be working on live events, Thursday-Friday. These additional sessions are gigs, so you will need to consider how you get home after the gigs are finished, so you can stay until the end (usually between 11pm and midnight).

Both versions of the programme consist of workshops at Future Yard's venue at 75 Argyle Street, Birkenhead, which run alongside the opportunity to gain hands-on skills at live events.

**PLEASE NOTE - this is not an application form for the next round of Sound Check!**
*When we release the dates for the next Sound Check programme we will send you an email to the full application form to complete, with details on start dates, etc.*

Thank you for your interest!
