The Writing Room is Apples and Snakes’ foremost skills development programme for writers aged 18-25. Our goal with this free programme is to provide a creative, nurturing and challenging training environment for emerging poets.  

Over the course of six workshops, participants will improve their writing, develop their craft and hone their skills - this year, under the guidance of international poet, performer and facilitator Deanna Rodger.

Rachel's debut poetry collection, My Darling from the Lions is published by Picador in the UK and has been shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection 2020.


You must be available to attend all workshops on:
Session 1: January 17th 2021
Session 2: January 24th 2021
Session 3: January 31st 2021
Session 4: February 7th 2021
Session 5: February 14th 2021
Session 6: February 21st 2021

All sessions will run from 10.30am-12pm on Zoom. Participants will also be required to be available to record for a digital sharing event in the week of 29th January.
