- Site-Based Committees (District & Campus) - Site-based decision making (SBDM) now involves input from many who are closely involved at the student level. Comprised of: • Professional staff • Parents of students enrolled in the district • Community members • Business and industry representatives
- School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) -
Members of the SHAC come from different areas of the community and from within the school district. The majority of members must be parents who are not employed by the district. Sources of SHAC Members (as stated in TEC Section 28.004) • Parents of students in the district who are not employed by the district (majority of the members-required by law) • District Students • Public School Teachers • Public School Administrators • Health Care Professionals • Business Community Members • Law Enforcement Personnel • Senior Citizens • Clergy Members • Nonprofit Health Organizations • Local Domestic Violence Programs Other Sources of SHAC Members • Media (e.g., local newspapers, local radio/TV stations and local print media) • Social Service Agencies • Public Health Agencies • Hospitals and Clinics • Civic and Service Organizations • Colleges and Universities • Youth Groups • Professional Societies • Housing Authorities • Before and After School Organizations • Other Faith Community Leaders
