Partners for Sacred Places (
www.sacredplaces.org) is collaborating with Dance/NYC, New York Landmarks Conservancy, and Goldstein Hall to locate available space in sacred places and provide free training for dance and faith-based organizations interested in learning how to share space with one another. The goal of this project is to create and foster sustainable, mutually beneficial space sharing relationships between dance organizations and sacred places.
Due to COVID-19 the training has moved online! The NYC Dance in Sacred Places workshop has been broken down into four weekly hour and a half long sessions.
- Understanding Common Values
- Setting Boundaries and Learning from Collective Expertise
- Space Re-envisioning and Mock Space Negotiations
- Legal Ins and Outs of Space Sharing
We will have three cycles of the month-long workshop beginning in each of the following months: February 2021, May 2021, and September 2021
Please fill out this form to let us know that your dance organization is interested in sharing space within a sacred place in Manhattan & Brooklyn. The training slots are limited to approximately 45 dance organizations interested in creating work in either Manhattan & Brooklyn. Applicants do not have to live in either borough to participate - just want to work in one of them.
