Trinity Term Summer Camp at Saint Thomas More Academy
Saint Thomas More Academy is pleased to offer a one-week Summer Day Camp August 16-20. Camp will begin with Morning Prayer at 8:30 AM and end with Midday Mass and BYO lunch after. We will offer two age groups - one for students 8+ and one for Preschool and Primary students aged 3.5-7. Camp is not limited to students of Saint Thomas More Academy - all are welcome!

Trinity Term tuition will be $50 per student or $120 for a family. Payment is not due with this registration - once registered you'll receive an email regarding payment.

Camp sessions for students 8+ will include hymnody and chant, Latin, altar serving (for boys) and altar guild (for girls).

Our organist and choirmaster, Mr. Hank Sullivant, will teach the choral session. This is the first step at preparing for a youth choir! Students will learn a two-part Mass setting which they will offer to Our Lord at Friday's Midday Mass for the memorial of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux.

Miss Mary Edmonds, Saint Thomas More's Latin Tutor, will teach a session on the Latin parts of the Mass in order to understand the history and language they will be learning to sing. Students will play games using the Latin they're learning! Mary is a UGA Classics graduate and National Latin Exam Gold Medalist.

Mrs. Susan Pierce, head of Saint Aelred Catholic Church's Altar Guild, will teach our young ladies the ins-and-outs of serving Christ's Altar, including the devotions and scriptural significance behind the practice and all the altar's elements, as well as how to create and maintain the linens and floral arrangements. Students will get the opportunity to assist on some larger projects and sew purificators and corporals by themselves for use by Fr. Tipton at Mass.

Fr. Tipton will give an intensive on Altar Serving that will go far beyond simply "where to stand and when to do what." He will explain the theological and traditional significance behind the elements of the Mass and the vessels and vestments used, emphasizing the devotional and vocational significance of the role of servers.

For Preschool and Primary Students aged 3.5 - 7, we will offer a Montessori-inspired French language immersion camp. Our younger students will get to participate in lots of typical summer fun, ballet and movement, as well as daily life activities, all in French! Students will be served a snack each day. Students in the French Immersion program must be accompanied by a parent at Morning Prayer and Mass. Lessons will be taught by Ms. Madison Grey, a Saint Aelred parishioner, native French speaker, and former Montessori preschool teacher in Quebec, as well as Daisy Sullivant, Saint Thomas More Academy's Preschool Tutor.

Please contact Megan Tipton at saintthomasmorega@gmail.com with any questions. Please complete registration by July 20. If enough students do not register to make Trinity Term Camp possible this summer, registered families will be notified on July 21.
