The School Counseling Department is looking for volunteers to participate in our revived “Career Day” -
May 23, 2024.
We are looking to recruit parents and community members to share their vocational expertise with our students by making a brief career presentation. The entire day will be from approximately 8:45 am - 11:00 am.
Presentations should be 10 minutes in length and should address how school-related subjects are applicable in your respective field. You will be presenting approximately 2-3 times, to different groups of students. We are hoping for 2-3 speakers in each career cluster, but realize we may not fill all of the career clusters (*details and schedule to be finalized once responses come in.*)
Further information regarding training, education, and personal characteristics that are required for your vocation should be explained. You should be prepared to discuss what a “typical day” is like in your field and provide any applicable visual aids and/or adolescent-friendly activities or games that complement your presentation. Should you be selected and commit, you will be sent an outline to help craft and guide your presentation.
We are greatly appreciative of our volunteers’ times and are cognizant of your busy schedules. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Please fill out the Google Form below. Should you be selected for a presentation, you will be contacted by TinaMarie Shea and Allison Carella, Lakeside Middle School Counselors.
