The Moore County School District will continue to offer parents/guardians with a 100% Remote Learning Option for their child(ren) for the remainder of this school year.  

It is important that all students and families understand the responsibilities and expectations.

Your completion and submission of this document indicates that you have read, understood and agreed to the requirements for remote learning, including the length of time you are committing to this option.

Student Responsibilities: Students will be expected to complete coursework and assignments independently. Students will be expected to check in daily with their classroom teacher and complete assignments using google classroom and/or the Edmentum program. Students will be expected to follow the same curriculum, pacing, and assessments as students in-school. Students are required to turn in all assignments. * *
Attendance and Seat Time: Districts are required to take attendance every day. Using the Edmentum program, time on task is monitored and will need to be sufficient for students to be successful compared to a student at school. Students are considered “present” only when they check in daily with their teacher. Please make sure you are aware of and understand your teachers' system for check-ins. The school district reserves the right to evaluate promotion to the next grade with attendance as a factor in the decision-making. * *
Parental Responsibilities: * Ensure that the student follows the established classroom rules and expectations for virtual learning. Ensure that the student follows the grade-level expectations for digital citizenship. * Ensure that the student is communicating appropriately with teachers and classmates (email, chat feature, etc.) * Parents are expected to support academic integrity by allowing students to work independently and by monitoring resources used. * Parents are expected to ensure students are submitting assignments through Edmentum or as directed by the teacher. * Parents are expected to ensure the student attends mandatory testing/conference/check-in sessions at the school or virtually. * Parents are expected to follow federal and state laws regarding student privacy and FERPA.
