Winter Safety Hazards
Winter working conditions present Arkay workers with specific challenges; such as delayed commutes, increased potential of suffering a slip or trip on a slippery surface, and the physical impact of working in a cold, wet conditions
Workers should prepare for winter by:
- Allowing more time for work commutes
- Be prepared for cold conditions with appropriate outerwear including thermal boots, gloves, toques and jacket
- Have changes of clothes on hand, including socks and gloves
- Evaluate work areas impacted by frost or snow prior to work, de-ice work areas or access points if able
- Unsafe work or access points should be reported to the site CSO immediately for remediation
- Use additional caution when crossing parking or road areas impacted by snow and ice
