We're so thankful for your interest in what's sure to be a spectacular project by dancemaker Courtney Mackedanz.
In light of the current surge of Covid-19 cases in Chicago, we have decided along with the artist to host this program virtually. The timing will remain the same (Friday January 28th at 6pm) but will stream on YouTube Live. The performance will be reworked and re-focused for video presentation, and bookended with commentary and conversation about concept and process between Mackedanz and Chicago dance thinkers Ginger Farley, Alyssa Gregory, and Irene Hsiao. (The entire program will run approximately 45 minutes).
To add to your experience for the evening, The Arts Club is happy to offer a to-go cocktail in partnership with cocktail-maker Miss Mya Pologies.
A Libertine’s Travertine
Fords Gin
Tito’s Vodka
Lemon
Malort
Pear
Dirty Cherry Garnish
Cocktail-maker Miss Mya Pologies, leans into the themes of Hannah Levy's artwork and exploring the gritty, tacky, garish underbelly of sleek modernist design, brings us A Libertine's Travertine. Evoking the swagger of James Bond with a gin and vodka martini, this drink slaps drinkers in the face with a shot of Malort--and a cherry on top to boot! Sip on this high class/base desire concoction at home while you steam Courtney Mackedanz's performance.
