SCSOS TK-12 Distance Learning Webinar Series  - Ed Tech Tools To Support Distance Learning
We are excited to announce the next series of Distance Learning Webinars to help you as you encounter the challenges of teaching virtually.

Ed Tech Tools To Support Distance Learning Series

Each session will be two parts. You will be asked to watch a prerecorded informative video before joining the live session to interact with the tech tool and discover ways it can be used to support student learning in the virtual environment. We are excited to model for you a way to effectively use your synchronous instructional time by using this flipped classroom strategy.

1. Jamboard for Grades 2-12- Tuesday, August 25th - 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm with Heather Parker
Jamboard is a Google Suite App that can be used both asynchronously and synchronously.  It has features that enable students to collaborate, draw, write, insert pictures, graph and much more! Jamboard is best suited for students grades 2 - 12, but all grade level teachers are welcome to join.

2. Pear Deck for Grades Tk-12 - Tuesday, September 1st - 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm with Heather Parker
Pear Deck is a Google Slides add-on designed to turn your presentations into interactive activities for your students. These presentations can be used either asynchronously or synchronously and provide instant feedback to the teacher. There is also a feature that allows you to comment on student responses and allow the opportunity for students to re-answer or further explain. Pear Deck has features appropriate for all grade levels TK-12.

3. Flipgrid for Grades TK-1 - Thursday, September 3rd - 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm with Jill Niederholzer
TK-1 students need special consideration during this time of distance learning. Flipgrid is a free video response platform designed to help educators see and hear from every student in class and foster fun and supportive social learning.  Flipgrid can be used to help teachers capture rich information about student learning and growth. This session is designed for Grades TK-1.

4.  Google Meets Breakout Rooms for Grades TK-12 - Tuesday, September 8th -  3:00 pm - 4:00 pm with Heather Parker
If you are using Google Meets for your synchronous instruction and would like to learn how to put students into individual or small group meetings (similar to Zoom's "Breakout Rooms") there is a way! This feature would allow you to have students collaborate and/or work independently during synchronous instruction with less distraction while you are still available for live, immediate feedback. Breakout rooms could be used TK - 12 depending on the district guidelines and teacher comfort level with the technology.

**Please register by noon on August 24th.  Once you are registered, your attendance is important as sessions are specifically planned with the audience in mind.  If you later become unable to attend, please let us know.

Zoom links for sessions will be sent to registered participants the day before the session.
