Heyyy!! I am Eboni Williams. I am a mother of Four beautiful souls and two sweet God babies. I have the support of my wonderful partner and family. I am a Certified Birth Doula through Dona International. I am a Certified Community Based Doula through BirthMatters which certifies through Health Connect One. As a doula, I show up fully present for each of my clients. I provide physical, emotional and informational support. I will make suggestions on comfort measures, positioning and other techniques discussed during labor/birth. I do not perform clinical or medical tasks, such as blood pressure or temperature, fetal heart checks, vaginal exams, etc. I do not make decisions for you. I will empower you to make decisions for yourself including your partner if present.
Restriction of ServicesI do not give any medical advice. In all things you should consult your Midwife or OBGYN. I only provide physical, emotional and informational support as I stated previously. I DO NOT ATTEND FREE BIRTHS OR ASSIST WITH ANYONE BIRTHING HOME ALONE WITH OUT MEDICAL PROVIDERS PRESENT.
Commitment from DoulaI will be on call for you 24 hours a day beginning when you are 37 weeks gestation up until 42 weeks gestation just in case you go over your 40 weeks. In certain cases unforeseen circumstances may prevent me from attending your birth such as sickness. I will have a back up doula if anything arises and I am unable to attend your birth and fulfill my commitment to you.
Services ProvidedAs your Doula I will help create the birth space that you desire. We will go over all of your birthing goals to create your desired plan. As in life we both have the understanding that everything doesn't go the way we envision it to go. My biggest goal as your doula is to empower you to advocate for yourself and be very confident when it is time for you to give birth. I truly believe that it is important to know all options available to you and to be able to make educated decisions. We will discuss tools to help you and your family prepare for the birth of your baby as well as the transition to having your new edition. I will provide early labor support as requested by phone or in person. The only time that I will come to your home for labor support is if you are having a home birth. I will remain with you once active labor has begun. Active labor perceived by me being 4 cm dilated. I will provide reassurance, make suggestions for labor progression, and help with relaxation, massage, and positioning for comfort. I will strive my very best to maintain a calm and peaceful birth environment. I will support you after the baby is born for up to two hours or it may be different due to special circumstances like the length of your labor, personal obligations, or other unforeseen circumstances. I will continue to provide emotional support and breastfeeding support when baby is born.
Services include several prenatal sessions, labor/birth support and postpartum sessions with you and your family as a request to build trust and develop the relationship. I ask that we have a minimum of 3 prenatal visits. You can customize your postpartum visits to your liking.
If you are hiring me for Labor/birth support only please note that I prefer to do at least 3-4 sessions after to check in and that can be done via home, phone, video, or public place.
Client Obligations
Your doula suggests that you participate in a childbirth class and tour the birth facility. (I Will provide information upon request) We will complete a birth goals(Plan) and discuss it in full details prior to your 37th week gestation. I will call my doula when labor begins so she can arrange to attend my birth. We agreed to pay the doula $800.00 or whatever we agreed upon for services. The first payment of $400.00 or other is expected at prenatal consultation and the last payment within 2 weeks before the birth. It is my understanding that if my labor should last more than 24 hours we will discuss additional fees if necessary.
I / we have read this letter describing the doula’s services and agree that it reflects the discussion we had with her.
