This doctoral research survey is being conducted through the Rhodes University School of Journalism & Media Studies. It seeks respondents who were either born, raised, currently reside in, or have familial ties to the Eastern Cape to share their experiences and perspectives of death practices on Facebook by answering this public survey. Provisional title: Networked Breath: An African Philosophical Approach to The Study of Death Online

Description: This PhD research asks how death practices (death announcements, mourning, memorialisation, and 'continued bonds' etc) and concepts of death in South Africa expressed on the social media site, Facebook, can be engaged with from an African philosophical position using creative research methodologies
