Members will be able to access your answers to each question and may contact you to initiate a conversation about working together. You are not required to meet with them if you do not think it is a good fit, but we do ask that you do provide an email response to anyone who reaches out to either plan a conversation or decline to meet with them.
Grant writers who contact you from Grant Writing Boss Club are not permitted to work on contingency or for a percentage of the grant if awarded. They must have a signed contract with the hiring organization, be paid up-front (either for an initial fee or the full contract amount), and can charge either a per-project, hourly, or monthly retainer. None of our grant writers are permitted to do volunteer or pro bono work via this platform.
More on our payment policy: We do not work on contingency, commission, or deferred payment. Leading grant writing professionals groups, including the Grant Professionals Association (GPA) and the Association for Fundraising Professionals (AFP), prohibit contingency pay. Grant writing professionals charge a fair price for our services, and whether the grant is awarded, we still completed the work. Furthermore, grantmakers typically do not allow fundraising expenses, including the payment of a grant writer, to be a line item in the budget. Finally, there are many factors that contribute to a grantmaker’s decision to award a grant or not, including an organization’s history of carrying out successful programs and making a significant impact on their community. A well-written grant proposal is only one of many of these factors. For these reasons, we do not write grant proposals on contingency, commission, or deferred payment. Payment must be received before work can begin, and we are paid regardless of whether the grant is awarded.
