Insect Exploration Teacher Toolbox
Engage, excite, and educate your students about the natural sciences with the Brenton Arboretum's Teacher Toolboxes. Each teaching resource kit will engage your classroom and spark curiosity about the natural world.

Included with the Insect Exploration toolbox:
- 27 insect nets
- 27 magnifying boxes
- Boxed specimens for observation: Monarch butterfly, Sulphur butterfly, chrysalis, cicada exoskeleton
- Books and field guides

Magnifying boxes, specimens, and books are packed in a plastic tote. Nets will be bundled for easy transport. Nets are approximately 4 feet long, so please plan accordingly for transporting them.

Pick-Up/Drop-Off:
Due to Covid-19 precautions, all toolbox reservations must select a pick-up and drop-off window.

Pick-up window is for the Saturday the toolbox reservation starts. Drop-off window is for the Wednesday the reservation ends (1.5 week reservation). This helps with staff time and contact tracing if needed. Toolboxes will not be available for pick up or drop off outside of the selected time. If you need to make special arrangements or change your times, please contact us at education@thebrentonarboretum.org.

Toolbox reservations must be submitted at least 1 week prior to the start of the reservation period.

Reservations are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email from Arboretum staff.

Late Fee Notice:
Toolboxes are due back to the Arboretum 1.5 weeks after the start of the reservation window (return date is a Wednesday). Late returns are subject to a $20 fee per day until returned. This return date is important to ensure proper cleaning before the next reservation.
