KS4 Python Programming
Lead by our Head of Computer Science, Steve Wentworth and is aimed towards year 10 and 11 students interested in problem solving and python programming skills. Starting with the three basic programming constructs of sequence, selection and iteration, then leading on to modularisation through procedures and functions, string manipulation, file handling, lists, dictionaries and more.

This course is aimed to support your problem solving and python programming skills, and in turn will provide a deeper understanding for your algorithms and problem solving exam paper.

There is no charge to take part in this course but priority will be given to students in state funded schools in the Liverpool City Region.

This course will be running every Tuesday during term times at 4.30pm.

You will need:
- a quiet place to work at home or school
- a computer or tablet that can join a Zoom meeting (microphone and camera not necessary) [if this is a problem please apply anyway and we'll try to find a way to help]
- to be able to join our Google Classroom (you may need to use a personal Google account for this as your school account may not be able to join our classroom)
- the commitment and time to complete work set outside lessons
- pencil and paper

The course is open to Years 10 and 11 students in schools in Merseyside and the North West. You will need to provide a contact email address for the school you attend so that we can check who you are and confirm your suitability for a place.  We will let your school know that you are taking part and may occasionally update them on your progress or contact them if we have any concerns.
