Call for Volunteers - 2023 SLA Southern California Community Leadership
The Special Libraries Association Southern California Community (SLA-SCC) is looking for volunteers to serve on its leadership team for 2023 and beyond.

The SLA-SCC Past-President (JonLuc Christensen) will work with volunteers to create a 2023 election slate. The election will be held from approximately November 14th until November 28th, with elects being announced by December 1st. Terms run from January through December of each year.

Elected Positions
  • President-Elect (2023-2025 term)
  • Director-at-Large/Membership Director (2023-2024 term)
  • Secretary (2023-2024 term)
Non-Elected Positions
  • Advisory Board Member (terms are by appointment, as needed)

Description of Roles and Titles
President-Elect
  • Elected to a 3-year term. Serves as a voting member of the Executive Board
  • Year 1 - Plans and coordinates events for the year, in coordination with and at the directions of the Executive Board. Fills in for the President, as needed.
  • Year 2 - serves as the President of the Community
  • Year 3 - serves as Past-President of the Community
Director-at-Large/Membership Director
  • Serves as a voting member of the Executive Board
  • Drives member engagement for the community and assists the Executive Board in related matters
Secretary
  • Serves as a voting member of the Executive Board
  • Records the minutes of the unit’s meetings and tracks all votes of the board
Advisory Board Member
  • Members of the Advisory Board serve for specific, limited roles as needed by the Community and appointed by the President.
  • Roles may include: planning specific events (Professional Development Day, Mentorship Day, etc.), scholarships committee, and more.
