Green Lanes Home School Agreement 2022-2023
Green Lanes Primary School is a community where we believe there is a strong partnership between the Governors, Headteacher, Staff, Parents, Community and Children. 
It is our vision and aim to create a learning experience in which your child will achieve and realise their full potential. At Green Lanes Primary School, we create independent, resilient learners for life. 

The School Responsibilities:- 
The school will: 
  • Be committed to safeguarding your child and provide a safe, happy, caring and stimulating environment, which encourages your child to do their best. 
  • Provide a high quality curriculum, with a range of learning opportunities and experiences for your child. 
  • Be a 'no-bullying' school and will define and model with your child clear expectations with regard to behaviour and how to value others and themselves. 
  • Communicate with you about what your child is learning and their progress and how you can help your child. 
  • Work in partnership with you and discuss at an early stage of any concerns we may have so that you can become involved in any matter relating to your child. 
  • We will meet GDPR laws which protects your personal data and keep it safe from unauthorised or unlawful access.

The Parent/Carer Responsibilities:-
I/We will undertake to: 

- Make sure my/our child attends school on time and not take holidays during term time.

- Communicate with the school any concerns I have. This can be done via email, verbally or by telephone. 

- Not use social media to express concerns so we can resolve any issues that you have. 

- Ensure that my/our child wears school uniform and is equipped and prepared for the day. 

- Help my/our child with their learning at home through regular reading and homework support using BoomRead and Google Classroom. 

- Support my/our child and the school in responding positively to expectations of the school's behaviour. 

- I/we will support the school's approach to online safety and not upload or add any text, image, sound or videos that could upset or offend any member of the school community, or bring the school name into disrepute. 

- I/we will ensure that my/our online activity would not cause the school, staff, pupils or others distress or bring the school community into disrepute. 

- I/we will support the school's policy and help prevent my/our child/children from signing up to services such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Whatsapp and YouTube whilst they are underage (13+years in most cases).

The Child's Responsibilities (please read through the responsibilities below and discuss these with your child):-
As a child at Green Lanes School: 

- I will work hard and show pride in my work and school. 

- I will follow the Green Lanes School behaviour code of Kindness, Respect and Safety. 

- I will keep myself safe online by never giving personal details about myself and not creating age inappropriate accounts such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Snapchat, Instagram or YouTube. 

- I will ensure that I support the 'no-bullying' pledge. This means never being physical to others, never using unkind or hurtful words and never leaving out others. If I see bullying or am being bullied, I will let an adult know. 

- I will always be kind, respectful and safe in all that I do. 

- I will strive to be a resilient and independent learning - making sure I purple polish all my work and follow advice from learning conversations. 

- I will read at least five times a week and do my homework, which will help me in my learning.
