Central High PAC - Large Funding Request
The Central PAC typically provides smaller grants ($500 or less) to teachers and staff for educational materials that are not covered by the school's budget or departmental fundraising. PAC’s focus is to approve funds that assist with closing the opportunity and achievement gaps. We realize that on occasion larger requests may come to PAC. This document is meant to give guidance and information about those larger requests. Reminder: PAC does not fund requests for bus transportation nor professional development.

WHAT IS CONSIDERED A LARGER FUNDING REQUEST?
A larger funding request is one that would be out of scope with PAC’s traditional funding approvals - more than $500 (i.e. requests that might be completed over several years or might include capital improvements).

WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO A LARGER FUNDING REQUEST?
Before thinking about asking for a larger amount from PAC, a plan will need to be in place BEFORE the funding is considered. The following information will need to be reported to PAC and the Fundraising Committee:

1) Identify key project contacts. Who will be involved in the project: Committee? PAC? District staff or facilities? Outside Vendors?
2) Estimated costs. If estimated costs are not available, funding may be limited until the estimates have been received.
3) Create a project timeline. If the project will take more than a year, it is expected that a timeline will be created with estimated budgeting. This is needed in order for PAC or PAC fundraising committees to identify targeted fundraising activities.
4) Identify possible other funding sources. Is there a matching grant? Has other funding or grant opportunities been identified? Does the project contain items that could be paid with facilities or district Capital Improvement funds?

A LARGER PROJECT REQUEST MAY NOT BE SUBMITTED AS SEVERAL SMALLER REQUESTS.

NOTE: If people need further information about how to find answers to these questions, please contact the PAC officers.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING A REQUEST?
Note that PAC will need at least one month before the next calendar PAC meeting to review all documents.

WHEN WOULD I HAVE A FINAL APPROVAL FOR THE PROJECT?
The project will be approved based on the amount of information that is provided to PAC. If it is determined that more information is required, you will be notified in writing and given a deadline to provide the additional information. If it is determined that part of the project can move forward while waiting for further information, PAC will let you know that information.

PAC officers (and those in attendance) will review your request at the next PAC meeting.  If you have questions, please contact Christine Vang at christine.vang@spps.org at or the PAC Treasurer, Amy Schrank at amyschrank@gmail.com.
