Garden Plot Application for Chestnut/Birch Community Garden

Chestnut/Birch Garden is a new garden across from Eurma Hayes Center, 412 E Chestnut. It is adjacent to the Birch Street Food Forest (expect fruit on trees this year!)

Please fill this form out if you are interested in "renting" a garden bed at Chestnut/Birch this 2022 growing season. ALL plots are ***FREE***, most tools will be provided, plus access to free seeds & plants, and gardening support from our team if you are a new gardener.

We will be prioritizing people who:
1) Live near or around the NE side of Carbondale -- especially those who don't feel comfortable gardening on their land
2) People with children/elderly in their care
3) People who would consider sharing some of their produce with their neighbors and friends

THIS FORM IS AN APPLICATION: IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE A BED. We will be back in touch by the end of March with decisions based on the above criteria.

This new community garden also has the function of using a portion of the growing area for more communal (collective) based growing (meaning open & free/available to anyone who needs it, if they garden there or not). If you are an experienced gardener or are interested in this aspect of the garden, would you.....?
