As the church continues to age at a rapid rate, how can the congregation use this present reality for renewal and mission? In “The Gift of an Aging Church,” this course will examine how aging in the local parish does not mean decline and death, but it is a great opportunity for evangelism and discipleship. It will explore practical ways in which a congregation can use older adult ministry to its advantage and revival.  As mature adults grow in their faith and passion for Jesus, it will profoundly affect the church as a whole.
 
The book for the course is “An Age of Opportunity: Intentional Ministry by, with, and for Older Adults” by Richard Gentzler. This is a free opportunity to sharpen your theological skills, but please purchase a copy of the book ahead of time.
