CASA Merit Badge Counselor Training Event Registration

After 8/1/2023, there is a new fee of $25 for newly registered Merit Badge Counselors (MBC). 
This fee applies to those ONLY serving as an MBC and no other scouting role.
CASA is willing to sponsor the registration fee for all participants who attend this MBC training without a scouting position.

Important! Please read.

Please complete and bring the followings with you:

  •  Adult Application - BSA Adult Application (required even if you are already registered in another Scouting position.) You do NOT need to fill out the bottom section "to be completed by unit" except for Position Code = 42 and Position = Merit Badge Counselor.  In the middle section, remember to initial in 2 places, sign, and date. Please also complete the last page "Additional Disclosures form".
  • Merit Badge Counselor Information Sheset - what badges you will be teaching Merit Badge Counselor Information.
  • A copy of your current YPT Training Certificate.
  • A copy of your AB-506 Certificate for the State-mandated training.  If you have not already completed this training and the live scan fingerprinting, you will need to do so before your registration is complete AB 506.
  • Please review the source of the material:  The Guide to Advancement Section 7 Guide to Advancement. 

* Before the meeting you will want to look at the merit badges available to see which ones you might like to counsel.  You can find the list of badges and their requirements on the scouting.org website here:  Merit Badge List.  You may want to bookmark this link because it’s one you will refer to often to make sure you have the current requirements.
