In celebration of National School Lunch Week, we're reaching out to you for input on our cafeteria menu at Milton High School. Your opinion matters, and we want to ensure you’re not only getting nutritious meals but also ones you truly enjoy.
Did you know that the National School Lunch Program ensures you get a balanced and healthy diet? We offer 5 essential components during lunch:
- Fruit: Daily dose of essential vitamins and minerals, ensuring you stay healthy and energized.
- Vegetable: Vitamins minerals, and fiber, supporting your overall well-being and digestive health.
- Meat/Meat Alternate: Proteins to help your body grow and stay strong.
- Whole Grains: Carbs for energy.
- Milk: Essential for calcium and strong bones.
Remember, you need to take 3 out of 5 components for your meal to be free, and one of those must be a fruit or vegetable!
Why should you consider school lunch?
- It provides essential nutrients necessary for growth, cognitive development, and energy throughout the school day.
Students who have nutritious meals can concentrate better, participate actively in class, and perform well academically.
Plus, it's one less thing to worry about!
