Eligibility 

At the time of nomination and for the duration of their term, individuals must: be Regular, Student, Honorary, or Crystal Circle members of CSPA-NYS; affiliated with an institution of post-secondary education*; receive supervisor support; and be committed to fulfilling the duties of the position for the length of the term. Nominees must also demonstrate an understanding of the CSPA-NYS mission, vision, equity and inclusion statement, as well as the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

*Exceptions to this affiliation requirement may be made by a simple majority of the Executive Board. Members who are employees of “for profit” organizations cannot use an Executive Board position to solicit business. 

Interested candidates must complete the nomination form.  As part of the nomination form, interested candidates will be asked to answer questions regarding their interest and experience.  Responses to these questions will be considered the candidate statement. Candidate statement questions can be viewed here prior to completing the nomination form.

Candidate statements for elected positions will be shared, unaltered, during the election.  Candidate statements for appointed positions will be shared with the current Executive Board.  Candidates for appointed positions may also be asked to participate in a 30-minute interview.

CSPA-NYS members may also nominate other members to be candidates by completing the nomination form.  Those candidates nominated by another member will be contacted by the Elections Committee and must accept the nomination by completing the nomination form themselves.  

Term of Office
Positions with a June start date will begin their term at the annual Summer Executive Board Retreat. Positions with a November start date will begin their term at or shortly following the Annual Conference.
