NASTTPO is conducting a survey to understand the current use and relevance of the Computer-Aided Management of Emergency Operations (CAMEO®) software suite. Information collected during this survey will be used to provide recommendations on the future direction of the software to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). 

Who should take this survey?

You should take this survey if you are a member of the emergency planning and response community. This includes people who are emergency planners or responders, work at a fire department, work in private industry or the regulated community, are private consultants or contractors, or are a member of a Local or Tribal Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC or TEPC) or a State or Tribal Emergency Response Commission (SERC or TERC).

You should take this survey if you use any of the core CAMEO suite programs (ALOHA, CAMEO Chemicals, CAMEO Data Manager, and MARPLOT) in any capacity. 

You should take the survey even if you do not use CAMEO. We still want to hear from you.

The survey responses should reflect your personal perspective. If your organization uses CAMEO, but you are not a user, please have the survey completed by one of the users within your group. 

What is CAMEO?

The CAMEO software suite is a free set of tools designed to help plan for and respond to emergency events and meet the requirements of Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), which is also known as SARA Title III. Target users of the suite are front-line emergency planners and responders, fire departments, law enforcement agencies, emergency medical services, industry, the regulated community, LEPCs, TEPCs, SERCs, and TERCs. CAMEO is co-developed by the EPA and NOAA, and CAMEO training for planners and responders is funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA).
