By entering the competition, entrants are agreeing to the terms and conditions below.

vic@volcanotheatre.co.uk The quality of the image will be considered by the judges as we intend to print shortlisted entries. To that end, we have designated that the image be more than 2MB but as long as the image is no more than 5,000 pixels in its wider dimension, any file size up to 64MB, it will be accepted.
2. Entrants must be 25 years old or under and based in the Swansea Bay Area. All images must be accompanied by text which includes the email, names and ages of photographer and subject and confirmation to agree by the terms and conditions of the competition.
3. Entrants and subjects of photographs under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian to fill out a form with the entrant and parent’s name, phone number and email address, and to tick the box permission to their child’s participation in the competition as either photographer or subject. All contact will then be made through the parent/guardian. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to complete this form on your behalf.
4. The aspect ratio must be 3 : 2 or 4 : 3. If the image is not in one of these aspect ratios it may be cropped by the competition organizers.
5. Photos submitted must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use and must not otherwise be obscene, defamatory or in breach of any applicable legislation or regulations. If we have reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches this rule, then your photos will NOT BE considered.
6. Copyright and permissions: By submitting images to the Volcano Likeness Photography Competition, each entrant confirms and warrants that:
a) they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
b) they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
c) they have the permission of those pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by Volcano Theatre.
d) they have received any necessary permissions from the owner(s) of buildings included in submitted images for the usage rights required by Volcano Theatre will indemnify Volcano Theatre against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement.
7. Copyright of all entries remains with the photographer, but Volcano Theatre reserves the right to use, publish and republish entries in connection with the competition only, without payment.
8. By entering the competition you grant Volcano Theatre the right to use your name and town or city of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your photos and/or as a winner in the Likeness Photography Competition.
9. This competition is open to bona fide amateur photographers and students only. That is, entrants should not earn more than 5% of their total annual income OR £1,000 annually from photography.
10. 3 Prizes totalling £100 will be awarded to the photographers of 3 portraits chosen by the judges.
11. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
12. By submitting photographs you are accepting the terms and conditions of the competition.
13. Images that have won an award in a nationally or regionally promoted competition or that have been entered in such a competition where the results are still pending, are not eligible for entry.
14. The strict closing date for entry is the 21st June 2021 (at midnight between the 21st and 22nd). No entries received after this time will be accepted.
15. The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
16. Winners agree to take part in post-competition publicity.
17. Copies - please ensure that you keep copies of submitted images. The organisers will not return copies of images to entrants.
This competition is free to enter and organised by the charity Volcano Theatre. Please remain calm if you are not chosen as a winner or selected for the exhibition.
