Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Youth on the Ridge Community Foundation, Inc., also known as
the Paradise Chocolate Fest. Please read through the following information carefully before completing the
attached application.
Volunteer Equity Program
There are over 250 Volunteer slots to fill for this year’s events Paradise Chocolate Fest, Chocolate, Wine & Brews
and Chocolate Chase; including the set-up and tear down of these events.
Your volunteer hours will be calculated from the time you sign in until you complete your task and sign out. The
hours you work will be available to be allocated to one or more of the qualified nonprofit youth organizations
(known as Beneficiary Organizations), or to the Fest itself, as you choose. In June of each year, the total hours
volunteered for each Beneficiary Organization will be multiplied by the calculated hourly rate, with awards
distributed to Beneficiaries at a community Awards Celebration.
Completing the Volunteer Application
Very Important! 95% of Volunteer positions are for day of the Chocolate Fest, Saturday, May 11th.
We welcome volunteers from 12 years of age up however, volunteers between 12-17 years of age will need one
adult per 3 youth in order to be placed as a volunteer (This does not need to be the parent and may be another
adult from the same youth beneficiary organization).
The majority of tasks for events require an adult age 18 or over. We ask you to please include your age as
certain positions require all volunteers be over the age of 21.
All of the information requested on the application is needed to place you as a qualified volunteer. The
application form is double sided so please complete both sides.
We welcome your application, however please realize that most of our events and volunteer positions involve
working in an outdoor setting, walking over uneven terrain occasionally, lifting, carrying, standing and having
the ability to communicate in a positive manner with many people. If you meet these standards please feel free
to complete the Volunteer Application.
ALL APPLICANTS AND RETURNING VOLUNTEERS MUST ATTEND AN ORIENTATION SESSION
EACH YEAR. This is both a requirement of our insurance carrier and of the Youth on the Ridge Community
Foundation. You only need to attend once per year, and the session runs for approximately one hour. You will be
issued your Volunteer Assignment and learn important event, logistic and safety information at the Orientation.
