Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary School Oxfordshire Museum Consent Form for Yr5/6 & Tr3/4
Dear Parents/Guardians,

As part of our History curriculum, we have arranged for Years 5/6 and 3/4 to visit the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock on 9th February 2021, during school hours.

Yr5/6 will be learning about the formation and development of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms up until the time of the first king of all England. That’s before the Vikings get involved!
Armed with helmets, swords and a good dose of role-play, the Oxfordshire Museum will help to make sense of it all. The children will marvel at amazing discoveries such as the Hanney Brooch, enamelled spear and pattern-welded sword then they will make their own treasured grave goods.

Yr3/4 will be learning about Romans in Oxfordshire and they will have a chance to dress up as a Roman citizen and learn what your clothing says about your status. Handle genuine Roman artefacts found in Oxfordshire. Learn what made the Roman army so effective before being drilled and, possibly, decimated!

We will be leaving school at 9.20 am and will be back around 2.30pm. The children will need a packed lunch and a water bottle in a rucksack that they can carry easily (no plastic carrier bags or fizzy drinks please).

To cover the cost of the workshop and the bus we are asking for a contribution from parents of £7.50 per child, as without such a contribution we will not be able to proceed with the trip.

Please can we have ALL the permission forms back by 6th December. Thank you.

Payment can be made by cash, cheque (payable to Oxfordshire County Council) although our preferred method is via ParentPay.

Yours sincerely,
Kind regards,
Anna Ellam and Gabrielle Sandford
Yr5/6 and Yr3/4 teachers
