AWIS DC Mentoring Circles: Effective Mentoring Relationships over Lunch (May 13)
Sign up deadline: May 12

Join us on May 13, 2020, at 12:00 PM ET, for an informal lunch discussion with Maria Lund Dahlberg, study director for the National Academies' report The Science of Effective Mentorship in STEMM. The study committee systematically compiled and analyzed current research on the characteristics, competencies, and behaviors of effective mentors and mentees in STEMM and developed a practical resource guide for mentoring practitioners to create and support viable, sustainable mentoring support systems.

Maria can answer your questions about the study, mentorship, or her path from physics major to program officer. As a group, we can discuss any challenges you may be having with maintaining effective mentoring relationships during this crisis.

Maria Lund Dahlberg is a Program Officer at The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, who focuses on policies, programs, and practices that create and support inclusive postsecondary environments for the next generation of diverse scientist, engineers, and health care professionals. She completed everything shy of defending her dissertation in physics from Penn State, when she fell in love with science policy and making STEM better for everyone. She has never looked back.

**You must sign up to get access to the meeting information. The meeting information will be sent by May 13, 9 AM ET.**
