Proposed Amendments to Constitution
Clause 5.8

Current: An AGM shall be held, at a time and place determined by the Committee, within thirty (30) days of the end of the financial year.

Proposed Amendment: An AGM shall be held, at a time and place determined by the Committee, within fifty-six (56) days of the end of the financial year.

Clause 5.8.4

Current: Details of nominees for whom written nominations have been received, preferably with brief personal details of each candidate, shall be provided to all members at least ten (10) days prior to the AGM.

Proposed Amendment: Details of nominees for whom written nominations have been received, preferably with brief personal details of each candidate, may be provided to all members prior to the meeting, or may be provided to the meeting in verbal form prior to the election being held.

Clause 6.1

Current: The committee will comprise not less than six (6) and not more than ten (10) elected members.

Proposed Amendment: The committee will comprise not less than four (4) and not more than ten (10) elected members.
 
Clause 6.6

Current: Officers shall hold office until the conclusion of the subsequent AGM or earlier through retirement or removal from office. Officers are eligible for re-election.

Officers resigning outside of the AGM will be required to give notice of not less than one week in writing to the Chairperson and one other executive member (Deputy Chair, Secretary or Treasurer). Notice by email or other electronic method is acceptable.

Clause 6.7

Current: If for any reason whatsoever the number of committee members falls below the minimum threshold of six (6) the Committee shall have the power to call a Special General Meeting for the purpose of electing further members.

Proposed Amendment: If for any reason whatsoever the number of committee members falls below the minimum threshold of four (4) the Committee shall have the power to call a Special General Meeting for the purpose of electing further members.
 
Clause 7.2

Current: Proposed amendments to the Constitution shall be notified to all members in writing twenty-eight (28) days prior to the date of the AGM or SGM at which such alterations are to be voted upon.

Proposed Amendment: Proposed amendments to the Constitution shall be notified to all members in writing twenty-eight (28) days prior to the date of the AGM or SGM at which such alterations are to be voted upon. In the event that a proposed amendment is presented to the AGM within the 28 day timeframe, said amendment may be passed if agreed upon by a simple majority of the members. In the event of a tie the Chairperson shall hold the casting vote.
